Walnut Creek was settled by Jonas Stutzman, first permanent settler in what would become Holmes County. A commemorative plaque is located on the Stutzman farm at the bottom of the ridge at Walnut Creek. This heritage can be seen in the quieter way of life in Walnut Creek. The pace is a little slower, and everything, from food to furniture, is made the old-fashioned way. Tour Amish farms or the German Cultural Museum, enjoy great food, attend the community garage sale and other neighborly shopping.
