Berlin

Experience the Heart of Amish Country.

Named for the Berlins in Germany and Pennsylvania, Berlin is the oldest existing village in the county, laid out in 1816. Once a rural industrial center, Berlin offers lovely strolls and great shopping. Everything from furniture to quilts, seeds to antiques, makes this a favored destination. The Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center is a great introduction to the culture with its interpretive tour of Behalt, a stunning 265-ft painting of the Amish and Mennonite story, and one of the few “cycloramas” left in the world.
